There are a large number of clinics, a territorial hospital in Yellowknife and a regional hospital in Inuvik. Know that it is mandatory for governments and medical and health authorities to offer services in French. The Government of the NWT has thus set up an interpretation service to assist Francophone clients to be served in French when they present themselves at the hospital or at a clinic. Thus, it is your right to request the services of a French-speaking interpreter when you are passing through one of these medical service points. An interpreter will be called on the premises to help you communicate with the doctor or others. For more information, contact:
